Fountain University in its quest to realizing its vision as a pace-setting institution and producing competitive and resourceful graduates has added another international collaboration with Sudan University of Science and Technology and the International University of Africa, Khartoum, Sudan.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.A Raji, accompanied by the Chief Imam of the University and Coodinator of GNS Department, Alh. A.A Adedimeji was on an official visit to Sudan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with two universities based in Khartoum, Sudan. He also attended an International Conference of Rectors and Vice Chancellors of Islamic Universities in Africa on the 6th of January 2015.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed with Sudan University of Science and Technology covers a period of five years. The terms of collaboration include research support for faculty members and students, exchange of culture, curriculum, and sports services among others. While the collaboration with the International University of Africa, centers around facilitating easy access of Fountain University students and NASFAT members travel to Sudan for a three month Arabic Proficiency course preferably during the long vacation which is Usually between July to September. This arrangement will make Fountain University staff and students and Nasfat members have the opportunity to interact with Arabs, learn and converse in Arabic language. This memorandum of understanding covers a period of three years and it takes immediate effect.
However, Fountain University prides itself as the Only Nigerian University invited from Nigeria to attend the international conference of Rectors and Vice Chancellors held in Sudan.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor was honored with an award at the event.
